Tam Fong-chun Says 'Surface-Level Friendship' with Kwong Kong-chi Was to Recover Flat; Defence Says He Once Wanted to Develop Sexual Relationship

The trial of the Abby Choi case continued in the High Court, where Tam Fong-chun was cross-examined by Kwong Kong-chi's barrister Anwar Hui, who alleged that he and Kwong had been classmates and good friends since 2008 and that he once wanted to develop a romantic and sexual relationship with him, which he said he absolutely disagreed with. Tam said that after Choi's dispute with Kwong over a ball at Kadoorie Hill in 2022, he learned that Choi held the Kadoorie Hill property but was not the registered owner, and therefore maintained a surface-level friendship with Kwong Kong-chi to recover what belonged to him.
