Heung Yee Kuk Proposes Pilot Ding Buildings in Northern Metropolis, With Floor Area Split Equally Among Indigenous Villagers, Government and Developers

Heung Yee Kuk Chairman Kenneth Lau has revived the idea of handling ding rights through "multi-storey buildings", proposing a pilot in new development areas such as new railway stations, with project floor area split one-third each among indigenous villagers, the government and developers, describing it as a "win-win-win" plan. He said indigenous villagers face lengthy waits to apply to build ding houses, and believes ding rights and other rights can be maintained after 2047.
