Department of Health's Government Chinese Medicines Testing Centre completes 22 thematic projects; deer antler testing time cut from 3 days to 1 day

The Department of Health's Government Chinese Medicines Testing Centre has completed 22 thematic projects since its establishment, among which a simplified DNA testing method is applicable to testing deer antler, shortening the testing time from the traditional 3 days to within one day. The centre is launching a pilot scheme to explore the "digitisation" of the taste of Chinese herbal medicines, building a taste database for Chinese herbal medicines and developing the identification of Chinese herbal medicines based on taste data.
