Eddie Yue: Now Is the Time to Re-examine Whether Compliance Conventions Remain Effective

Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Eddie Yue, speaking in his welcome remarks at the Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit, said now is the time to re-examine whether the conventions known and followed in the past remain effective. He said the world faces more military conflicts, changes in trade policy, supply chain restructuring, rising public debt and a constantly changing technological environment such as AI, but the global financial system has continued to hold up well, and there is a need to pay closer attention to potential threats and what the market lacks.
