24/7 FITNESS secretly filming case: Privacy Commissioner launches compliance review

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data announced that it has launched a compliance review of the chain fitness centre 24/7 FITNESS, requiring the organisation to provide further information. The Sha Tin Lai Yuen Street branch was last month discovered on the 25th to have had 3 pinhole secretly filming cameras suspected to have been installed in its bathroom. The Office will examine whether the measures it took afterwards to protect members' personal data privacy were sufficient to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
