Wong Kwok-yan Denies Disclosing National Security Investigation, Says He Did Not Know Police Were Investigating

Wong Kwok-yan, a 72-year-old political commentator who writes under the pen name Wong On-yin, continued to defend himself at the District Court, denying that he disclosed a national security investigation and saying he judged at the time that police were not conducting an investigation. He admitted mentioning in a video a meeting with national security police at Mong Kok Police Station and describing the officer's age and appearance, but believed the purpose of the meeting was only to stop a press conference from being held. The case entered its 12th day of trial on Tuesday and continues on Wednesday.
