Social worker urges attention to elderly's expressions; agency calls on relatives and friends to care about domestic helpers

Chan Ka-choi, a lecturer in the Department of Social Work at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, suggested that relatives and friends regularly visit elderly people who are ill, and watch for any signs of panic or reluctance to let visitors leave when they are with their domestic helpers. Relatives and friends can also ask domestic helpers about the elderly person's recent blood pressure readings, medication condition and dietary habits, so as to observe the helper's attitude and whether they are not putting their heart into caring for the elderly.
