Hang Seng Index Closes Down 31 Points as Financial and Property Shares Fall, Tech Stocks Rise

The Hang Seng Index traded erratically, closing at 24,314 points, down 31 points, with turnover on the main board nearing $193.5 billion. Financial and property sub-indices fell more than 1%, with Longfor Group down more than 4% and Sino Biopharm down more than 4%, making it the worst-performing blue chip. The tech index closed at 4,174 points, up nearly 1%, with Meituan up nearly 7% and Xiaomi up more than half a per cent.
