Autonomous vehicle testing project in Tung Kwong runs smoothly

The Transport Department's Working Group on the Promotion of Applications for Autonomous Vehicles inspected an autonomous vehicle testing project in Tung Kwong, North Lantau, today and took a ride in an autonomous private car, with the whole journey stable and smooth. The Transport Department said this was the working group's first on-site inspection of an autonomous vehicle testing project. Members include autonomous driving research scholars, information technology experts and stakeholders, who can directly exchange with pilot operators on the latest technological developments and application experience. The department encourages operators to continuously refine their technology based on feedback from passengers of the ride activity, enabling the public to experience convenient travel.
