空氣質素健康指數風險級別已達嚴重水平
The Environmental Protection Department recorded higher-than-usual air pollution from the afternoon of 13 October, with the health risk level of the Air Quality Health Index at some monitoring stations reaching the serious level. Winds were light and sunshine abundant in the afternoon, and ozone and fine particulates formed rapidly across the Pearl River Delta region. The Observatory forecasts that a fresh easterly airstream will reach the coast of Guangdong later tomorrow, by which time air quality will improve.
The Environmental Protection Department explains how light winds and abundant sunshine in the afternoon push up ozone, and gives tomorrow's improvement forecast along with health advice for children, the elderly and outdoor workers.
