MOFCOM's Yu Ning: Three UNIDROIT Bodies Taking Root in Hong Kong Shows International Recognition

Yu Ning, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law at China's Ministry of Commerce, said at Hong Kong Legal Week that three UNIDROIT bodies taking root in Hong Kong shows international recognition. She said demand in Asia-Pacific for unified commercial rules is increasingly urgent, but the number of UNIDROIT Asia-Pacific member states and the participation of scholars do not match the region's economic standing, and expressed hope that UNIDROIT will set up an Asia-Pacific liaison office in Hong Kong to encourage more people to use its rules.
