New Huanggang crossing facial-recognition immigration clearance open for online or on-site registration; Immigration Department: takes only seconds, no impact on crossing

The new Huanggang Port has set up 134 "co-verification" self-service immigration lanes, supporting document reading and facial-recognition clearance. Eligible Hong Kong residents who have registered for the Mainland's Express Clearance Channel can register via the Immigration Department's app "Hong Kong e-Channel" from yesterday, or register on the spot at the self-service lanes when the time comes. Assistant Director of Immigration (Control) Wong Kei said registration only takes a few seconds to agree to the relevant terms, and he believes it will not affect the clearance experience, with the department arranging sufficient manpower.
