Hang Seng Index Up More Than 80 Points in Early Afternoon; Standard Chartered Up Over 5 Per Cent After Results

In early afternoon trading, the Hang Seng Index stood at 23,125 points, up 84 points, or 0.37 per cent; the tech index stood at 3,865 points, up 65 points, or 1.72 per cent. Standard Chartered shares were earlier up more than 5 per cent after it announced quarterly results.
