Secretary for Labour and Welfare Sun Yuk-han Written Reply to LegCo: 93 Heat Stress Work Injuries in Past Three Years, No Fatal Cases

Secretary for Labour and Welfare Sun Yuk-han said in a written reply to LegCo that the Labour Department registered 31, 29 and 33 work injury cases related to heat stress in 2023 to 2025 respectively, totalling 93, with no fatal cases during the period. He said the existing Guidelines on Preventing Heat Stroke at Work already require employers to conduct their own heat stress assessments according to the special circumstances of the workplace, and the Labour Department will continue to review the operation of the mechanism.
