Private Hospitals Association Backs Fee Transparency, Proposes Price Ranges Rather Than Fixed Prices

Private Hospitals Association vice-chairman Chan Woon-tong said the association supports the government requiring private healthcare institutions through subsidiary legislation to publish price lists and provide fee estimates, advancing fee transparency. He said some complex medical procedures involve many variables, and supplier prices also affect drugs and equipment, so a single fixed price may not be suitable; setting price ranges can give hospitals and doctors greater flexibility.
