Green Power Survey: 'Vulnerable' Green-eyed Hawker Nearly Absent from Tung Chung River This Year

A Green Power survey found that the 'vulnerable' species green-eyed hawker, recorded for many years in the lower reaches of Tung Chung River, was nearly absent this year, an unusual situation. The group observed muddy water discharging from some pipes connected to the local river channel, suspected to come from nearby construction sites, and urged the government to strengthen protection of river water quality.
