Kwun Tong Food Factory Fresh Meat and Pickled Mustard Tuber Bun Sample Contains Excessive Bacillus cereus; Centre for Food Safety Follows Up Investigation

A sample of fresh meat and pickled mustard tuber buns from a food factory in Kwun Tong contained 250,000 Bacillus cereus per gram. Under the Microbiological Guidelines for Food, ready-to-eat food containing more than 100,000 per gram is considered unsatisfactory. The Centre for Food Safety has deployed staff to the premises for investigation; the factory has been instructed to stop selling and discard the relevant food, and to carry out thorough cleaning and disinfection.
