The Transport Department has announced the traffic arrangements for the opening of the rebuilt Huanggang Port, which will operate 24 hours, with 7 franchised bus routes, 6 green minibus routes and 5 short-haul cross-boundary bus routes running 24 hours. Among them, the franchised bus routes pass through 9 MTR stations and 4 bus interchanges. The department has jointly drawn up a contingency plan with port authorities on both the Shenzhen and Hong Kong sides, under which backup buses in the buffer zone can arrive within two minutes to pick up passengers. It has also urged members of the public to use other land and rail boundary crossing points as needed during the initial period of opening and to plan their journeys in advance.
The announcement sets out specific arrangements for buses, minibuses and taxis, and spells out a contingency deployment under which backup buses arrive within two minutes, allowing readers to verify route numbers and travel options accordingly.
