Algernon Yiu says thalassaemia patients need long-term treatment, hopes public will deepen understanding

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yiu attended the opening ceremony of the Thalassaemia Children's Fund ceramic exhibition and charity sale, saying that thalassaemia patients require long-term treatment and follow-up, and hoping that the exhibition would not only allow the public to appreciate ceramic artworks but also deepen their understanding of the disease. He also said that the fund has been raising public awareness through various forms and charity activities, and providing support to sick children and their parents.
