Transport Department Working Group on Promotion of Autonomous Vehicle Applications Inspects North Lantau Tung Chung Self-driving Car Testing Project

Members of the Transport Department Working Group on Promotion of Autonomous Vehicle Applications inspected the North Lantau Tung Chung self-driving car testing project on 10 October, taking a ride in an autonomous private car, with the journey proceeding steadily and smoothly. The North Lantau project was approved in February this year to extend the testing route to Tung Chung and Sunny Bay, and was further approved at the end of July to add remote standby operator monitoring. The Transport Department and the pilot operator will brief the proposed public experience activities at the Islands District Council Traffic and Transport Committee meeting on 13 October.
