5 People Suspected of Conspiring to Defraud Technology Voucher Funding of 1.6 Million Granted Bail

A technology service provider is suspected of conspiring with the persons in charge of 3 shell companies and 1 middleman to defraud the Innovation and Technology Commission and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, falsely claiming that the companies were eligible to apply for funding under the Technology Voucher Programme, involving more than $1.6 million. 5 people were charged by the ICAC with 4 counts of conspiracy to defraud, and appeared at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts yesterday. They did not need to answer the charge for the time being. The case was adjourned to 8 January 2027 for mention, and each person was granted bail.
