Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing plans to launch redesigned renminbi-denominated gold futures and develop more renminbi-denominated precious metals products, expanding the role of the renminbi in commodity trading and risk management. Chief Executive Bonnie Chan disclosed in a blog post that the exchange will explore better connections between Hong Kong's commodity market and other markets in the Greater Bay Area, and expand the fixed income, currency and commodity ecosystem to advance the internationalisation of the renminbi.
