Transport Department working group on autonomous vehicle applications inspects Tung Chung test project in North Lantau

The Transport Department working group on autonomous vehicle applications inspected and took a ride in the autonomous vehicle test project in Tung Chung, North Lantau, with the whole journey stable and smooth. It was the group's first on-site inspection. The North Lantau project was approved in February this year to extend the test route from the airport island to Tung Chung and Sunny Bay, and was approved at the end of July to add a remote backup operator for monitoring in addition to the backup operator on board. The Transport Department and the pilot operator will brief the proposed public experience activities at the Islands District Council Traffic and Transport Committee meeting on the 13th of this month.
