Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Article Says SAR Government's Wang Fuk Court Fire Accountability Is Factual and Punishment Fits the Offence

The Central Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and the State Council Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office published an article under the byline "Hong Kong and Macao Commentary", saying the SAR government apologised to the public over the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire and pursued criminal accountability, administrative accountability and acceptance of political responsibility in accordance with the independent committee's report, demonstrating commitment and courage. The article said the accountability at the three levels was serious, factual and saw punishment fit the offence, and put forward reform measures targeting deep-seated problems such as loopholes in the building maintenance system.
