Hiking pole and kitchen knife attack on boyfriend, woman with delusion disorder given hospital order

A middle-aged woman admitted one count of wounding with intent and was sentenced to a 3-month hospital order at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts (acting as District Court) yesterday. She attacked her boyfriend with a hiking pole and kitchen knife at her residence last year, leaving him needing stitches to his head. Acting Principal Magistrate Ko Wai-hung noted that the defendant committed the offence without premeditation, but the victim's injuries were not minor, taking into account that she committed the offence under the influence of mental health issues.
