The Centre for Food Safety announced that a sample of prepackaged bamboo shoots under the Jisen brand, 'High Mountain Small Bamboo Shoots', contained the preservative sulphur dioxide at a level compliant with legal requirements, but the label did not declare the additive's functional class and name. The centre has ordered the sole distributor, Jisen Food Company, to stop sale, remove from shelves and recall the affected batch.
