Mable Chan: Five berthing areas set for southbound Guangdong yachts to ensure flexible allocation of yacht berthing space

Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan said that the arrangement for southbound Guangdong yachts will be implemented as early as this month. The Marine Department has put in place a "real-time yacht dynamic monitoring system" and an electronic system, enabling real-time monitoring of the usage of five berthing areas in the waters and flexible allocation of berthing space. Visiting yachts can disembark passengers at public piers or embarkation and disembarkation facilities, then return to the designated berthing areas to replenish supplies and carry out vessel repairs. In the past, mainland yachts were required to have a private yacht club membership or a yacht berth before they could come to Hong Kong.
