Hang Seng Index Once Fell More Than 500 Points; Tech Index Down More Than 3%

Hong Kong stocks widened their losses. The Hang Seng Index fell to a low of 23,143 points, and was last at 23,195 points, down 455 points, or 1.93 per cent. The Tech Index was at 3,864 points, down 130 points, or 3.26 per cent. The finance, property and utilities sub-indices all fell more than 1 per cent.
