Thailand plans to charge foreign tourists an entry fee of 450 baht, equivalent to about HK$105, in the first quarter of next year, applicable to foreign tourists entering by air. The authorities are also studying a departure fee of 1,000 baht, but no collection date has been set. If combined with the 1,120 baht passenger service charge for international flights currently levied by Airports of Thailand, the total of the three charges would reach 2,570 baht, equivalent to about HK$600.
