Political commentator charged with revealing nat. security probe says police gave no confidentiality warning
Political commentator Wong Kwok-On, who writes under the pen name Wong Ngon-Yin, denied at the District Court that he disclosed information from a national security investigation as his trial opened. Representing himself, he said that when he met officers from the National Security Department last December, police only told him not to disclose details of the meeting, but did not say he could not mention that the meeting had taken place, and gave no oral confidentiality warning. The prosecution called 2 police officers to testify, saying they had explained the statement to the defendant and reminded him that the contents of the meeting had to be kept confidential.
