Christine Choi: Improvement measures for Wang Fuk Court fire to be decided after independent committee report; disciplinary action against errant civil servants not ruled out

Secretary for the Civil Service Christine Choi said whether responsibility investigations will be launched over the Wang Fuk Court fire must await publication of the independent committee's report, after which existing measures and accountability will be reviewed in accordance with the report's contents and mechanisms. It is understood that the government is deploying two principal-level administrative officers to assist the Standing Commission on Disciplinary Action of the Civil Service in launching a Level 2 administrative responsibility investigation into last year's fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po; the authorities are formulating a code and arranging manpower and office space.
