Secretary for Environment and Ecology: Hong Kong to expand community recycling network after shelving municipal solid waste charging

After shelving the municipal solid waste charging scheme due to strong public opposition, Hong Kong will strengthen its community recycling network, including setting up full-day automated recycling points. The Secretary for Environment and Ecology also pledged that the allowed rate of return would be reviewed when the two power companies' scheme of control agreements expire in 2033, and that clean energy would be promoted.
