IT supplier under probe for alleged bid-rigging in VR system quotations to schools; Competition Commission searches 11 premises

The Competition Commission yesterday (the 8th) searched 11 premises under court warrants, investigating several information technology service and equipment suppliers for allegedly engaging in bid-rigging, price-fixing, market allocation and exchanging sensitive information affecting competition when submitting quotations for VR equipment and software installation to schools and non-profit organisations. Preliminary estimates put the total value of the contracts involved at about HK$10 million.
