Policy Forum | Yiu Ming-kei urges government to increase per capita living space in Northern Metropolis

New Territories North legislator Yiu Ming-kei proposed raising the per capita public housing allocation in the Northern Metropolis from the current minimum indoor area of 7 square metres to 10 square metres. He suggested encouraging developers to build larger units through land price discounts, releasing plot ratio and relaxing development parameters, and said the Northern Metropolis University Town must be integrated with industry, with facilities blending into the community.
