Legislative Council Question 22: Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn Written Reply on Local Employment in the Northern Metropolis

Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn, in a written reply at the Legislative Council, said the full development of the Northern Metropolis is expected to provide more than 500,000 new jobs and 500,000 new housing units, but at this stage no detailed breakdown by industry of the number of new jobs will be made. She said the planning estimates are not hard targets and will be adjusted as planning proceeds, and the government currently has no plans to launch a "Northern Metropolis Jobs-Housing Balance Special Scheme".
