Queen Mary Hospital clinical building lift incident: Department of Justice files review application over engineer's sentence

In the case involving multiple lift breakdowns at Queen Mary Hospital's clinical building, the engineer involved was convicted of offences including improperly issuing safety certificates and submitting false or misleading documents, and was sentenced to 160 hours of community service. The Department of Justice has filed a review application over the sentence. The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department said he had violated the Lifts and Escalators Ordinance, and his registration as a lift and escalator engineer was revoked with immediate effect.
