Hong Kong police arrest 20 in cross-border prostitution ring that controlled Southeast Asian women through travel debts

Hong Kong police announced on Tuesday the arrest of 20 people in connection with a cross-border prostitution ring. The ring paid transport and accommodation costs for women from Southeast Asia, requiring them to first provide 30 to 45 sexual services free of charge to repay their travel expenses, after which half of their prostitution income had to be handed over to the ring.
