Ada Chung: New Search Arrangements Make System Clear, Protect Owners' Privacy and Prevent Searchers From Falling Foul of the Law

Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data Ada Chung says the 8 subsidiary legislation items for the title registration system announced by the government last month set out 9 specified purposes, making the search system clearer, protecting owners' privacy and preventing searchers from inadvertently falling foul of the law. She says the PCPD received 20 complaints of suspected misuse of land register data in the past 5 years, including 6 this year alone, with signs of deterioration.
