Bank of Alakun receives banking licence from Hong Kong Monetary Authority, becoming first Central Asian bank to establish presence in Asia-Pacific

InvestHK announced that Bank of Alakun has received a banking licence from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and will establish a restricted licence bank in Hong Kong under the name Bank of Alakun Hong Kong Branch, becoming the first Central Asian bank to set up a business presence in Asia-Pacific. The department had provided consultation on licence applications and support for regulatory alignment. Director-General Alpha Lau said this is another milestone following the Chief Executive's visit to Central Asia in June this year.
