John Lee Accepts Winnie Ho's Resignation, Asks Political Team to Pursue Reform

Chief Executive John Lee has accepted the resignation of Secretary for Housing Winnie Ho over the Wang Fuk Court fire, saying the fire fell within the remit of an independent review team under the Housing Bureau and that although the secretary made no personal error she should bear political responsibility. He asked the political team to pursue reform in their respective posts and learn lessons, and said he was disappointed by the shortcomings of four related departments; the Public Service Commission will launch an independent investigation.
