Fire Services Department: Voltage dips in parts of Kowloon and New Territories, 179 people trapped in lifts and 4 unwell
消防處：九龍新界部份地區電壓驟降 179宗被困升降機4人不適
Voltage dips occurred in parts of Kowloon and New Territories in the afternoon. As of 3pm, the Fire Services Department had received a total of 179 reports of people trapped in lifts and 40 reports of fire alarm activations, and had handled all incidents. CLP Power said a 400,000-volt power supply line between Lai Chi Kok and Tsz Wan Shan recorded a brief voltage dip at about 1:09pm, during which power supply was not interrupted. In the incident, 4 people felt unwell because they were trapped in lifts, of whom 3 were conscious and sent to hospital for treatment.
The Fire Services Department updated the number of affected cases, while CLP Power explained that the cause was a brief voltage dip on a 400,000-volt line between Lai Chi Kok and Tsz Wan Shan, and power supply was not interrupted.
