Hang Seng Index Falls 229 Points at Half-Day as Tech and Financial Stocks Under Pressure

The Hang Seng Index closed the half-day at 23,956 points, down 229 points, a fall of nearly 1 per cent, with main board turnover at nearly $102.1 billion. The Tech Index fell 1.2 per cent to 4,058 points, with Lenovo Group down nearly 8 per cent, the biggest faller among Hang Seng Index and Tech Index constituents. The finance sub-index fell more than 1 per cent, with HSBC and China Life down more than 2 per cent; Hansoh Pharmaceutical rose more than 7 per cent and WuXi Biologics rose more than 5 per cent.
