Buildings Department to conduct spot checks on remaining properties at Stanley luxury development; John Lee says regulations will be tightened and penalties increased

The Buildings Department announced that it will carry out sampling inspections on the remaining properties at a luxury development in Stanley, after poor workmanship was uncovered at a house there. The spot checks will also cover other works involving the contractor concerned and related professionals. Chief Executive John Lee said the regulatory regime would be strengthened and penalties increased to achieve a deterrent effect.
