Former New Zealand Judge Arnold Recommended as Overseas Judge of Court of Final Appeal

Chief Executive John Lee has accepted the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission to appoint Arnold, a former permanent judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, as an overseas non-permanent judge of the Court of Final Appeal, subject to the consent of the Legislative Council. After Arnold's appointment, the number of overseas non-permanent judges will increase from the current 5 to 6. Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal Andrew Cheung has welcomed this.
