Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell Visits Hong Kong, Says Chinese-Speaking Congregants in UK Growing; Tours Transitional Housing, Hopes to Give Residents Space and Dignity

Stephen Cottrell, the second most senior cleric in the Church of England, is on a 3-day visit to Hong Kong. Yesterday he preached at St John's Cathedral and joined several bishops of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui at a service, with the cathedral full to capacity. He said he had recently seen more Chinese-speaking congregants in the Church of England, and believed congregants from different cultures and places would make the church better. He also visited transitional housing, saying he hoped to give residents space and dignity.
