Observatory Says Temperatures in Some Areas Reach 35 Degrees in Afternoon, Expects Persistent Heat for Rest of Week

The Observatory says that under the influence of the subsiding air at the periphery of Tropical Cyclone Champi and an upper-level anticyclone, temperatures across Hong Kong generally rose to 33 degrees this afternoon, with some areas reaching 35 degrees or above. The Observatory expects persistent heat for the rest of the week, with a large day-night temperature difference, and very dry daytime conditions on Friday and Saturday, with scorching heat in some areas. It calls on the public to take heat precautions.
