Hong Kong shares: Hang Seng Index closes at 24,040, up 68 points, reclaiming the 24,000 mark; turnover falls to $98.1 billion

Hong Kong shares fell first before rising, with the Hang Seng Index closing at 24,040 points, up 68 points, a gain of about 0.3%, while Main Board turnover fell to $98.1 billion. The Tech Index closed at 4,183 points, up over 0.6%. Lenovo Group rose nearly 5% to be the best-performing blue chip, while Zhipu rose over 6%. Property and rental stocks were under pressure, with Wharf REIT, Henderson Land and MTR falling nearly 2% to over 3%.
