Hang Seng Index Rises 99 Points at Half-Day, AI Concept Stocks Gain

The Hang Seng Index closed the half-day at 23,140 points, up 99 points, or 0.43 per cent, with turnover of about $98 billion. The tech index stood at 3,868 points, up 1.8 per cent, with AI large-model, hardware and chip stocks broadly gaining; South Korean chip stock SK Hynix's better-than-expected results for last quarter drove AI concept stocks in the region higher. HSBC's share price steadied, Standard Chartered rose more than 2 per cent, and Pop Mart fell nearly 1 per cent at the half-day.
