Police warn against fake 'Electronic Traffic Ticket Platform' websites and phishing SMS
警務處呼籲市民提防偽冒「電子交通告票平台」網站及釣魚短訊(附圖)
The Police urge the public to beware of fraudulent websites and phishing SMS impersonating the 'Electronic Traffic Ticket Platform'. The websites claim that discounts are available for early payment of ticket fines, in order to deceive people into giving out credit card and personal information. The Police stress that no discount is offered for paying fines. The official website is https://www.etrafficticket.gov.hk , and ticket SMS will only be sent by '#HKPF-eTT' and will not contain hyperlinks. Those who have provided information to fake websites can call 18222 to contact the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre.
The article points out that the fake website uses payment discounts as bait, and lists the official website address and SMS sender name, allowing the public to verify authenticity and seek help via the hotline.
