Institute of Housing Management urges publication of authorised voting proxy list before owners' meetings, suggests using 'iAM Smart' to verify owners' identity

The Hong Kong Institute of Housing Management submitted recommendations on the proposed amendment to the Building Management Ordinance, with more than 500 members participating in discussions. The institute supports mandatory disclosure of mutual interests by specified persons, the inclusion of criminal penalties for false declarations, and intervention by the authority when a owners' corporation is paralysed. The institute also suggested using the 'iAM Smart' personal code to verify owners' identity in the long term, and studying the introduction of electronic voting.
